NY Estate Auction Slated for September 16

RAPAPORT…  Press Release, NEW YORK: On Wednesday, September 16, 2009, three separate estates of rare fancy color diamonds, colorless diamonds, diamond jewelry and colored stone jewelry will be auctioned in the Penthouse (34th floor) of 580 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan at 10:00 a.m. The auction will be conducted by Gemological Appraisal Association Inc., part of the Palmieri Group. Don Palmieri, court-appointed broker for the Treasure Trove (a rare collection of fancy color diamond rings), appointed broker for the Howard W. Klein estate (certified diamonds and jewelry) and court-appointed liquidating trustee for Alison Gem Corp. (loose diamonds and commercial diamond jewelry), will be auctioning all of the lots in three sessions.

“Regardless of what type of estate these diamonds and jewels come from, there is something for every type of jewelry business and collector,” according to Palmieri.  He added that the unique opportunities presented are further assured by the organization and classification of the material.

Session 1: Rare Fancy Color Diamond Rings, A Treasure’s Trove Collection

Five fancy color diamond rings make up this one-of-a-kind collection. These five rings were from the Simon & Shuster/Treasure Trove, New York Times Bestsellers List, “Secrets of the Alchemist Dar” treasure hunt. This collection includes the following rare diamonds:
• Extremely rare natural fancy red diamond
• Natural fancy intense blue diamond
• Fancy vivid yellow

Session 2: Loose Diamonds & Diamond & Gemstone Jewelry, Estate of Jeweler Howard W. Klein
• 45 certified high quality round brilliant and fancy shape diamonds at up to 60 below list.
• Platinum, 18-karat and 14-karat diamond semi-mounts and wedding rings at steep discounts.
• Pendants, necklaces, bracelets and ear studs all at low reserves.

Session 3: Loose Diamonds and Diamond Jewelry, Liquidation of Alison Gem Corp.
• 18-karat, 14-karat and 10-karat diamond bracelets, diamond solitaire rings and diamond necklaces
• Certified loose diamonds – commercial quality

A kickoff presentation by Bruno Scarselli, the principal of Scarselli Diamonds, and the NCDIA discussing the appreciation of fancy color diamonds will begin at 9:00 a.m.
